Black Widow has had a number of really iconic costumes during her time in both the comics and on film. With her own solo film seemingly wrapping up her career in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there's plenty of costumes we'd love to see her in for her final appearance.

Although we've already seen an array of designs including the White Widow costume, in the trailers, there's still plenty more we'd love to see her wear one more time or perhaps introduce into the films. Here are 10 costumes we really need to see!

10 ORIGINAL COSTUME

The original costume that we see for Black Widow in the comics is so far removed from anything we are used to. The blue color is odd to start with, especially since her name literally has a color in it, to base the designs off of.

It's very much a product of its era and looks a little bit more like something the Black Canary would wear. The mask is also something we don't see very often from the Black Widow, but it's such a fun throwback that we'd love to see it included as a nod and a little joke.

9 80s COSTUME

The 80s was an era all about reinventing the characters of Marvel. One character that got a bit of a makeover was Natasha Romanov, who was put into an even sleeker outfit, unlike anything we could imagine.

The grey color was a big departure from the traditional black and red, as was the fact that this was a one-piece. There were often no belts to go with it, nor were there any kind of weapons holders and the traditional logo was replaced by a spider. Plus we just love that high collar!

8 RED STRIPES

The red stripes costume was used just after the Onslaught storyline and tried to spice up the traditional Black Widow look a little bit. By this point, the standard black tactical suit we're used to from the films had become a mainstay.

To keep this fresh though, they took the red that had often highlighted the costume and added red stripes along the sides of the outfit, as if it were the markings of a spider. Something like this would look really great on-screen and could be an easy way to change up a classic look.

7 FEAR ITSELF

The Fear Itself story that we saw in the comics has a really cool twist towards its finale. In order for the Avengers to combat these godly threats, they must upgrade themselves and their costumes to be more of a match in this battle.

The costume we get for Black Widow, with the glowing red/pink highlights and huge swords, was truly astounding. It brought the character to a new level. Although it's unlikely there will be a need for this costume, a similar design as a reference would be great to see.

6 ULTIMATE

The ultimate version of the character is actually Jessica Drew, who many people would normally know as Spider-Woman. In this parallel universe she takes on the role of the Black Widow and has a really different costume to set herself apart.

There are Spider-Woman elements including the mask that make it look very unique, as does the red jacket that reminds us of Scarlet Spider. The Black Widow logo frames the costume nicely; this is a great look for a period of time where Natasha could try to be more heroic.

5 YELENA BOLOVA

Yelena Belova will be making her debut in the MCU and so we know that one of her costumes will be introduced. Yelena is well known for wearing the short jacket and all leather, however, there's another look we'd love to see Natasha wear instead.

One of the costumes is an all-black bodysuit, with her various weapons and headgear that screams espionage. It's the headpiece that's the most important here as the green tech would look excellent on-screen and could serve as a cool gadget.

4 2099

The future of the Marvel universe certainly looks bright as plenty of heroes have been established for 2099 to carry on defending the Earth as best they can. One hero is Tania who has taken on the role of the Black Widow.

Her suit is a modified version of what we're used to, with the black, red and white really emphasizing the spider theme. The mask feels a little like Yelena's and the overall look is something we have to see on the big screen.

3 IRON MAN 2 COSTUME

Black Widow in Iron Man 2

We're now looking at the costumes that she has previously worn in the MCU that we'd love to see one more time. The first is from her initial appearance. Although this was a good first effort at her outfit, it's more to symbolise her journey.

We'd love to see that initial costume to show how far the character has really come. In some ways it's bland and less heroic than other costumes we'd seen at that point, but both the character and costume has been developed since.

2 AGE OF ULTRON

This is a costume that feels the most iconic, partially due to the emphasis on the stingers and the blue highlights that course through the suit. It's a really cool and heroic-looking costume.

It's probably one of the best versions of the character put to film in terms of her look, so why wouldn't we want to see this quite definitive look one more time?

1 INFINITY WAR COSTUME

Finally, we've chosen a costume that would be used during this time period and it makes sense she wears it again. The military level stealth suit, with a bit of body armor and greener colors, represents how she was on the run.

We see it when she's operating with the other Secret Avengers and it's a look that's not only practical but does a lot of storytelling. Therefore, it's crucial we see this costume again.
