Black Panther is not just the King of Wakanda, but also the nation's spiritual leader and protector. This last role has led to him becoming a superhero, as he has mastered numerous martial arts and trained his body beyond the peak of normal human limitations.
Of course, almost any great warrior is also a weapons master, and King T'Challa is a world-class fighter. When it comes to unarmed combat, he has demonstrated quite an impressive arsenal in the many years he has been Black Panther.
10 The Panther's Claws Are Twin Vibranium Daggers
The Panther's Claws are a pair of vibranium daggers that have been used by the Wakandan Royal Family for generations. How long they have been in use is not yet known, but based on their design, it seems likely that they were forged millennia ago.
Some ancient weapons are obsolete. Others are artifacts of immense power. The Panther's Claws fall into the latter category, but since then, even more powerful weapons have been developed.
9 Wakandan Cloaking Tech Is Built For Stealth
Not all weapons have offensive capabilities. The cloaking technology used by the Wakandans is all about stealth, and it is arguably the finest cloaking tech in the world (though some of the cloaking devices developed by Tony Stark might be comparable).
With cloaking devices that can outsmart even the most sophisticated S.H.I.E.L.D. security systems, Wakanda hid its true strength from the world for millennia (something also demonstrated in the MCU). Their spies, assassins, and warriors have also been able to infiltrate any location with such tech.
8 Vibranium Energy Daggers Are Deadly Sharp
The Vibranium Energy Daggers are one of the more advanced types of dagger developed since the original Panther's Claws were first forged. The energy pulsating through their blades can make them capable of killing or stunning an opponent, giving them incredible versatility, while they possess all of the usual utility and hardiness of a vibranium weapon.
Black Panther often dual wields these to great effect, and they have been a key part of his personal arsenal since he debuted way back in The Fantastic Four #52.
7 Nation Maker Is The Spear Of Wakandan Kings
The spear Nation Maker has quite literally been wielded by Wakandan kings since the nation was founded. As Marvel has its own history and it is unknown when the very concept of a "nation" emerged in the Marvel Universe, this could mean that Nation Maker is nearly a million years old.
This weapon has killed thousands. But beyond that, spears are among the greatest of melee weapons as they keep opponents at a distance, have incredible force behind every blow, and can parry most close-quarters attacks with their haft. Even a spear wooden haft is capable of deflecting the metal blades of most swords and axes without breaking. As a barbed spear made of pure vibranium, Nation Maker is a truly impressive weapon that has withstood the test of time.
6 Energy Siphon Dagger Disrupts Mind Controls
Knives are apparently quite popular in Wakanda, as the Wakandans have developed numerous high-tech daggers. The most impressive of these are the Energy Siphon Daggers.
These deadly weapons have a number of impressive abilities. If a person's brain has been augmented with brainwashing or telepathic probing, the Energy Siphon Daggers will bypass and counter these effects by draining energy from a target. They also interfere with teleportation, preventing an enemy from making an escape by teleporting away.
5 King’s Mercy Was King T’Chaka’s Sword
King T'Chaka was the father of T'Challa. Most of his life's story has been revealed through the memories of those who knew him before he died, and so his career as the previous Black Panther has come through in fragmented pieces, but one of the weapons he favored was his personal sword, King's Mercy.
According to his widow, Queen Ramonda, the sword is the finest in all the world, as (in addition to being stronger than any other sword) it can adapt to the strength of its wielder and will intuitively increase the speed of its attacks.
4 Skybreaker Is Wakanda's Most Sacred Weapon
Skybreaker is the most sacred weapon in all of Wakanda. It was forged from the Great Vibranium Mound by the first King of Wakanda, Bashenga. It is indestructible and it is capable of channeling energy through it. The blade will never dull, and any non-living item that it comes into contact with for long (such as its now-nigh-unbreakable wooden hilt) will grow stronger.
Kept in a secure temple, Skybreaker is guarded by both priests and high-tech traps. Only the King of Wakandan was allowed to wield this weapon. The X-Man Storm broke in and stole it, wielding Skyreaker when she dueled with Death of the Four Horsemen. She won.
3 The Dora Milaje Are Living Weapons
The personal bodyguards of the Black Panther are the Dora Milaje, a group of elite warrior women trained in combat, spycraft, numerous types of advanced technology, and just about every skill one can have.
It may seem unfair to compare these women to inanimate objects like swords and spears, and in one way, it is. But be clear: this is not objectification. Rather, the Dora Milaje have honed themselves into living weapons, maintaining all of their humanity while transforming their bodies and minds into some of the deadliest and most versatile weapons on the planet.
2 The Panther Habit Is Powerful And Iconic
Like the Dora Milaje, the Black Panther is a weapon. However, this list is about weapons he wields, and so while he can order his sword bodyguards to fight for him, he cannot exactly wield himself. Rather, his weapons need to be an extension of his power and martial prowess.
That is where the Panther's Habit comes in. The classic costume of the Black Panther has gone through numerous iterations. It has nanotechnolgoy, stealth capabilities, mystical augmentations, vibranium weave, and is pretty much the perfect combat suit, making it a weapon worthy of warrior kings.
1 The Hand Of Bast Can Defeat The Phoenix
The Hand of Bast is a powerful weapon specifically built to take down the Phoenix Force. Named for the goddess Bast, the weapon is a giant energy construct in the shape of a panther, created from pure vibranium energy.
When the symbiote god Knull invaded the Earth, the Avengers, X-Men, and pretty much every other team of heroes fell. Wakanda beat back the invasion of this dark god by using the Hand of Bast, which ripped the throat out of a symbiote dragon and then purged every aspect of the symbiote's influence from their nation.
