Another Black Panther cast member disclosed his favorite anime. Michael B. Jordan, who plays Eric Killmonger, revealed his favorite anime was Naruto: Shippuden, which he regularly watched in his early teenage years. In 2019, Jordan teamed up with Coach and VIZ Media to release a limited edition Naruto-themed collection with items like several pairs of shoes and a denim jacket.

"With my name on this collection, it was important to design pieces that represent my cultural influences and my community; pieces that I could see my friends, family and fans wearing with pride," Jordan said in a statement. "As with all aspects of my work, this collection is about bringing fresh perspectives and unique voices to the forefront. Expanding into the fashion design space was rewarding beyond my expectations. I'm grateful to Stuart and Coach for providing me with the opportunity and expertise to execute a collection I'm extremely proud of."

Published in 1997, Masashi Kishimoto's manga series focuses on Naruto Uzumaki, whose biggest dream is to become the Hidden Leaf Village's hokage. After the Nine-Tails attacks the village, Naruto's father, the Fourth Hokage, seals the beast inside his newborn son. In the devastating attack, both the Fourth Hokage and Naruto's mother lose their lives. Consequently, the village ostracizes young Naruto.

Naruto's first anime adaptation aired 220 episodes from 2002 to 2007. The franchise continued with Naruto: Shippudden, the original series' sequel, which aired 500 episodes from 2007 to 2017.
