Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is reportedly conducting reshoots just two months before the film's release date.

As noted by Cosmic Circus on Twitter, director Ryan Coogler will be helming a series of reshoots in Georgia during the week of Sept. 7. It is uncommon for a film to undergo reshoots so close to its release date, but some fans are speculating that the creative team is filming new post-credit scenes. In the reply section, multiple Marvel Cinematic Universe enthusiasts are asking for a post-credit scene with a T'Challa variant, using the hashtag #RecastTChalla.

Marvel Studios brought back acclaimed director Ryan Coogler for the sequel after the first Black Panther film became one of Marvel's most successful movies ever, grossing over $1 billion at the box office and nabbing a Best Picture nomination at the 91st Academy Awards. However, writing and directing the sequel was no easy task after the surprise passing of lead actor Chadwick Boseman in 2020. According to Boseman's co-star Lupita Nyong'o, Coogler reshaped the sequel in a way that pays respect to Boseman, explaining that the director "feels the loss in a very, very real way."

Compared to most other Marvel movies, not much is known about the upcoming sequel to the 2018 hit film. However, the synopsis, released just after the debut of the emotionally-charged trailer, suggests that the nation of Wakanda will be facing its toughest battle yet. The story will take place after the death of King T'Challa and will see familiar characters like Shuri (Letitia Wright), M'Baku (Winston Duke), Okoye (Danai Gurira) and Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett) standing against the Namor (Tenoch Huerta), the leader of a mysterious undersea empire.

Letitia Wright, who many theorize will take on the mantle as the new Black Panther, talked about how Shuri reacts to T'Challa's death in the sequel. "The loss of her brother causes her to be so consumed with her work that she's creating at another level, at a higher level actually," Wright said. "So there's so much new technology to look forward to, and I think that's where her sweet spot is at the moment. Like, 'How do I process this?' And she just throws all of her energy, even more so, into technology. So, there's a lot of cool new things to look out for."

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever hits theaters on Nov. 11.
