Created by Bill Everett and originally appearing in the promotional giveaway comic Motion Picture Funnies Weekly before debuting in 1939's Marvel Comics #1, Namor is one of the publisher's oldest heroes and among the first antiheroes in the medium. An Atlantean/Human hybrid, Namor is one of Marvel's first mutants canonically and possesses incredible strength, which he has used as a member of such teams as the Illuminati, Defenders and Invaders. Namor is also the leader of Atlantis, which causes much tension with the surface world.

While specific plot details about Black Panther: Wakanda Forever are still being kept under wraps, the movie will see Wakanda facing off against invaders following the death of T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman). The trailer for the film indicated that a massive wave will hit Wakanda, seemingly a reference to Namor's attack on the nation during the events of the Avengers vs. X-Men storyline.

Huerta, for his part, has said that he's going to be "kicking ass" in his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut. However, as to whether Namor will be a friend-or-foe to the new Black Panther, whose identity hasn't officially been disclosed, he said fans will have to wait for the movie's release to find that out.

Directed by Ryan Coogler from a script by himself and Joe Robert Cole, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever hits theaters on Nov. 11.
