The following contains major spoilers for Avengers Forever #6, available now from Marvel Comics.

The Avengers discover their most unexpected ally in the form of a Black Panther variant who might also be Marvel's next cosmic god.

Avengers Forever #6 by writer Jason Aaron (Avengers, Heroes Reborn), artist Jim Towe (Spider-Man/Deadpool), Guru-eFX and VC's Cory Petit has made one of the multiverse's most fantastical heroes even more astounding. Not only was this multiversal T'Challa already more Spider-Man than Black Panther, but he has also now undergone his own Superman-style transformation thanks to being trapped within the Sun itself.

This version of T'Challa was only a baby when his parents uncovered the threat posed by King Killmonger of the Multiversal Masters of Evil. To protect their son, T'Challa's parents set him adrift through space in the hopes that he would reach safe haven at some point during the journey. Luckily, the Wakandan infant landed on Chandilar, the throne world of the Shi'ar Empire, where he would become the masked hero known as Sky Spider. Unfortunately, King Killmonger's arrival was only a matter of time, and not even T'Challa's Vibranium suit could keep him from falling in battle. However, as Robbie Reyes, the Tony Stark of Earth-818, and Deathlok have just discovered, that same Vibranium would prevent the Sky Spider from perishing.

When Robbie manages to pull T'Challa free, he emerges from a Vibranium cocoon completely transformed by the experience. Now covered in glowing purple bands of Vibranium atop a billowing caped suit, the newly dubbed Star Panther appears to now have cosmic energies at his command. As he describes it, "The power of the white-hot heavens coursing through my veins," and he is dedicated to turning that power on the villain who massacred his world.

King Killmonger first appeared alongside the rest of the Multiversal Masters of Evil in 2021's Free Comic Book Day 2021: Avengers/Hulk #1 in Jason Aaron and Iban Coello's "The Tower at the Center of Everything." These villains, inspired by Mephisto, have made it their mission to eradicate any and all Avengers that they can, and across as many realities as possible. King Killmonger, like his maniacal accomplices, has empowered himself by taking on the abilities of another Marvel powerhouse, specifically the Destroyer armor from Asgard.
