Every year, Rotten Tomatoes compiles a list of the most highly-rated films and TV shows of the year for its Golden Tomato Awards. The 20th Golden Tomato Awards saw quite a number of comic book adaptations heading the pack for the very first time.

Ryan Coogler's Black Panther, the much-celebrated blockbuster that's racked up a lot of nominations heading into awards season, was named 2018's Best Wide-Release Movie, as well as the Best Comic Book/Graphic Novel Movie. Armando Iannucci's The Death of Stalin was the second highest-rated comic book adaptation of the year, followed by Ant-Man and the WaspAvengers: Infinity War and Deadpool 2.
