Black Panther, Shuri Are At the Heart of Avengers Assemble's Fifth Season

After dealing with Kang, the Avengers will be turning their attention to Wakanda in the upcoming season of Avengers Assemble.

The Marvel animated series will be rebranded for its fifth season as Avengers: Black Panther's Quest with the superteam helping T'Challa and his sister Shuri in defending the Wakandan throne from the Shadow Council. The new season will see new alliances forged and new enemies arrive including a jungle-set showdown between Black Panther and Kraven the Hunter. The popular animated series had previously been rebranded as Avengers: Secret Wars during its fourth season which saw Black Panther assemble a new team of Avengers to fight the villainous Cabal. Now facing insidious threats back home, T'Challa must turn to his old allies in a new espionage-tinged adventure that spans the globe.

First announced at San Diego Comic-Con last year, Avengers: Black Panther's Quest will be part of the Marvel Animation Presents panel at this year's SDCC. The panel is scheduled for Sunday, July 22 at 1:30 PM PST in Room 6A of the San Diego Convention Center. Voice actors James Mathis III (Black Panther) and Daisy Lightfoot (Shuri) are expected to appear on the panel to show a first look at the upcoming season before signing at the Marvel booth at 3 PM later that day.

Avengers: Black Panther's Quest will air on Disney XD this fall.
