The first photos from the Atlanta set of Marvel's "Black Panther" don't reveal any action or plot, but they do show the film's stars and confirm the involvement of Martin Freeman.

Published on JustJared, the shots capture Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira and Freeman, some with scripts and drinks in hand, on a rainy Saturday in Georgia.

The star of "Sherlock" and "The Hobbit," Freeman was widely expected to reprise his role as Everett Ross from "Captain America: Civil War." However, as of the most recent casting announcement for "Black Panther," release on Jan. 5, Marvel Studios had yet to list him as part of the ensemble.

Introduced by Marvel Comics in 1997's "Ka-Zar" #17, Ross is typically depicted as a U.S. government expert on — and liaison to — Wakanda. In "Civil War," the character is the deputy task force commander of the Joint Counter Terrorist Center.
