Black Panther's Erik Killmonger looks like he has a bone to pick with the King of Wakanda in a new photo from the upcoming film. Two new stills released for the film show both sides of T'Challa: king and warrior.
The first of the two photos shows T'Challa in his Black Panther suit. This suit looks much like the one he wore in Captain America: Civil War, with a few new golden accents. Standing in front of a Jeep hauling what looks to be some kind of metal, he looks ahead towards something off-screen.
In the second photo, T'Challa wears a regal purple outfit with gold accents. He stands directly before Michael B. Jordan's Erik Killmonger, who wears a kind of metal-plated armor. One of the Dora Milaje -- the Black Panther's personal body guards -- looms in the background with her hands on her weapons.
The new photos arrived in Empire Magazine's latest issue, which also boasts a shot of T'Challa in action on the cover. The image of Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther appears to be taken from the elaborate fight sequence with Kilmonger, as showcased in the trailers. This close-up look at T’Challa’s new vibranium suit is very different than the one above; the Black Panther suit he wears in the cover appears to be laced with tech, which glows purple.
Directed by Ryan Coogler from a script he wrote with Joe Robert Cole, Black Panther stars Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa, Michael B. Jordan as Erik Killmonger, Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia, Daniel Kaluuya as W’Kabi, Letitia Wright as Shuri, Danai Gurira as Okoye, Angela Bassett as Ramonda, Martin Freeman as Everett K. Ross, Andy Serkis as Ulysses Klaue, and Forest Whitaker as Zuri. The Marvel Studios film arrives in theaters Feb. 16, 2018.
