As award season continues for films released in 2018, the Marvel Cinematic Universe blockbuster Black Panther has been nominated for the top honor by the Producers Guild of America.The PGA has announced their nominees with Black Panther being nominated for the Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Theatrical Motion Pictures. This top award is given to the best film of the year among ten total nominees, including A Quiet Place and Crazy Rich Asians. Other notable nominees are Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Incredibles 2 both receiving nominations for Best Animated Motion Picture and Teen Titans Go! receiving a nomination for Best Children's Program.

In addition for the Black Panther's nomination, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige is also expected to receive a special honor at this year's event. With the PGA being one of the largest and most influential production guilds within the Hollywood entertainment industry, the prestigious nomination further increases the likelihood of Black Panther potentially becoming the first superhero film to be nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards. The PGA Awards will be revealed on January 19.
