Marvel Studios' Black Panther, starring the late Chadwick Boseman, was reportedly the most-watched comic book movie in the United States during the first week of September.

According to data from Reelgood, a streaming service search engine that tracks films and television viewers, Black Panther dominated the Top 10 charts with almost 17% of its users streaming the Marvel Cinematic Universe film. Coming in at 14% is Netflix's The Old Guard with Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) sliding into the third spot.

Reelgood's list is based on streaming data from over 2 million users in the U.S. and includes other MCU films such as Avengers: Infinity War (9.45%), Avengers: Endgame (8.28%) and The Avengers (7.21%). Interestingly enough, Extraction makes the movie list at Number 6 at 8.66%.

As for the Top 10 comic book TV shows in the first week of September, the Season 3 premiere of The Boys (46.48%) puts it at the top of the pack. Coming in second place is The Umbrella Academy (16.38%) and Lucifer (10.31%) in third place.

Digital sales of Black Panther skyrocketed on iTunes and Amazon following Boseman's death at the age of 43. On iTunes, Black Panther was Number 5 on the top U.S. movies list, right behind 42, which stars Boseman as Black baseball player Jackie Robinson. 2017's Marshall, starring Boseman as Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall, was at No. 8. The film claimed the Number 2 spot on Amazon the Sunday after the actor's death.
