Marvel Studios Visual Development Supervisor & Concept Artist Andy Park has worked on a good chunk of the studio's film output in recent years, including Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Thor: Ragnarok, Ant-Man and Captain America: Civil War. The piece, which features Black Panther looming in a dark mist in front of a very regal-looking statue of his animal namesake, emphasizes the character's clawed gloves.

Fan anticipation for the Wakandan hero's solo movie is already sky-high. Its first teaser trailer snared over 89 million views in its first 24 hours, making it one of top three most-viewed Marvel trailers overnight.

According to Marvel’s synopsis for the film, Black Panther will revolve around T’Challa coming into his own as king of Wakanda as he protects his home and way of life from forces threatening to destroy his nation and the world.

Opening on February 16, 2018, Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther stars Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa, with Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, Andy Serkis, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Florence Kasumba, Sterling K. Brown and John Kani.
