Former U.S. President Barack Obama has revealed that one of his favorite films of 2018 was Black Panther.

Obama has always had a lively social media presence. In recent years, he's begun a tradition of using the end of the year to list some of his favorite things, and an entry from the Marvel Cinematic Universe was one of his highlights for the year.

Posting to Facebook, Obama used the platform to share his favorite books, movies and music of the year. Among his favorite films are major Oscar contenders like Roma and If Beale Street Could Talk and well-regarded indie films like The Death of Stalin and Shoplifters. The biggest film on his list, however, is easily Black Panther.

Directed by Ryan Coogler, Black Panther was one of the defining films of the year, crossing $1 billion at the box office and dominating culture when it was first released. It also recently became the first superhero film to be nominated for Best Picture at the Golden Globes.
