Tenoch Huerta, who co-stars as Namor in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, would love to play the character in a solo movie.

In an interview with Digital Spy, Huerta was asked if the opportunity exists for the Sub-Mariner to star in his own Marvel Cinematic Universe project. "I would like it, but I don't know," he said. "It depends on what [Marvel Studios President and Chief Creative Officer] Kevin Feige says he wants. It depends on the inbox. It depends on the people, and how many tickets they buy. So please: buy a lot of tickets."

At the premiere of Wakanda Forever in October, Feige himself said something similar about the prospect of a Namor solo film. However, given that Feige has wanted to bring Namor to the big screen for almost 18 years, his appearance in the Black Panther sequel may not be his last.

What's Next for Namor in the MCU?

Comments made by producer Nate Moore imply that Marvel may already have plans in the works for the King of Talokan involving the X-Men. "We don't wanna get ahead of ourselves. We don't wanna overpromise something that's not on the horizon. But... the truth is, Namor's a mutant. You know what I mean?" he said. "And as a fan of publishing and his history, it would've felt disingenuous to not say that." Since Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox (which held the film rights to the X-Men), fans have wondered if and when the characters will join the MCU. Feige has promised that the studio is close to revealing its plans, so Namor may have a future alongside his fellow mutants.

While Namor's prospects are unknown at this time, Wakanda Forever will kick off new stories for the heroes of the MCU. The film will introduce Dominique Thorne as teenage inventor Riri Williams before she headlines her own Disney+ series, Ironheart. Moore described the show as a direct sequel to Wakanda Forever, saying "Riri is carrying the experiences she had in this movie back home to MIT and there's some interesting repercussions to her adventures that will set her on a fun course."

In addition, Wakanda Forever director Ryan Coogler is developing a Black Panther spin-off focusing on Danai Gurira's Okoye, the leader of the Dora Milaje. Moore has said that the project is "probably not as far along as people want it to be" due to prioritizing Wakanda Forever and Ironheart, but that "there are certainly great ideas that we're still talking to Ryan about. So, we'll see how far we can get with it."

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever hits theaters on Nov. 11.
