This pilot season, the forecast is looking particularly bright for at least two comics-related projects that have been highlighted in a recent top-10 pick of pilots most likely to get commissioned, published by The Hollywood Reporter.

Near the top, in the number 2 slot, is Matt Nix's X-Men-adjacent and as-yet untitled mutant-themed project for Fox. The success of FX's similarly low-key X-show "Legion," which itself recently received a second season order, has probably also helped enhance the new pilot's chances no end.

At the other end of the list at position number 9 is "Black Lightning." Fox recently passed on its own pilot for this prominent black DC superhero, but that merely left the door open for Greg Berlanti (along with Salim and Mara Brock Akil) to add another show to The CW's growing stable of DC Universe TV series, although Berlanti currently appears keen to play down any crossover potential.

THR reports that "Black Lightning," which stars Cress Williams as the titular hero, is "being eyed for a midseason run." However, fans will have to await an official announcement from The CW before they know for sure whether the series gets the green light.
