SPOILER WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for “Three Sevens: The Book of Thunder,” the latest episode of Black Lightning.

Black Lightning's daughter Anissa "Thunder" Pierce just had her first metahuman throwdown. The only problem? It was against her own crimefighting father.

The family feud took place in "Three Sevens: The Book of Thunder," after Tobias Whale's goons broke into Lynn Pierce's office looking for evidence against him. Black Lightning, who was on the phone with Lynn as the break-in took place, rushed to his ex-wife's aide. Meanwhile, Anissa was also headed to see her mother after finally working up the nerve to reveal her new metahuman abilities.

Still dressed in her Thunder costume from earlier, Anissa arrived to discover Lynn tied up with her mouth taped shut. The superhero-in-training made quick work of her assailants, until Black Lighting stepped onto the scene. With neither Jefferson Pierce nor Anissa realizing who the other was, the two unleashed their powers on one another. What made the showdown stand out was the fact that Anissa is still learning how to use her Thunder powers, yet she stood toe-to-toe with a veteran like Black Lightning. It also didn't help that Lynn had to witness two of the most important people in her life locked in battle, unable to stop them.

However, Anissa's luck finally ran out when Black Lightning tied his daughter in an electrified rope and slammed her into the ground. When he rolled Anissa over, he finally realized he was fighting his own daughter.
