Black Lightning: War Is Coming in First Season 3 Teaser

Black Lightning returns on The CW next month for its third season. In anticipation of the show's return, the network released the first trailer, which teases the new conflict coming to Freeland.

Armed soldiers are seen rounding up citizens openly in the streets, while others are held in overcrowded detention centers. Jefferson Pierce and his daughter Jennifer can be seen confronting the authorities as their electric-powered alter egos.

As martial law sweeps across the city, Jefferson is seen unmasked and under observation in what appears to be some sort of lab facility. It looks like rough times ahead for the Pierce family in Season 3 as tensions continue to escalate.

After being separated from the Arrowverse programming on The CW, Black Lightning is confirmed to cross over in some capacity with this season's "Crisis on Infinite Earths." How this will impact the characters moving forward into Season 3 has yet to be revealed.

Returning Monday, October 7 at 9 pm ET/PT on The CW, Black Lightning stars Cress Williams as Jefferson Pierce/Black Lightning, China Anne McClain as Jennifer Pierce, Nafessa Williams as Anissa Pierce/Thunder, Christine Adams as Lynn Stewart, Marvin "Krondon" Jones III as Tobias Whale, Damon Gupton as Billy Henderson and James Remar as Peter Gambi.
