RJ Cyler, who played the Blue Ranger in Lionsgate's Power Rangers film, will join the cast of Black Lightning in a recurring role.
Cyler joins Season 2 of The CW superhero drama as the awkward and gangly tech genius Todd Green. When Green is passed over for a research grant, he gets an offer he can't refuse from series antagonist Tobias Whale (Marvin “Krondon” Jones III).
Making his motion-picture debut as "Earl" in the award-winning independent film Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, Cyler joined the cast of Power Rangers as Billy, the Blue Ranger. He can currently be seen alongside Matthew McConaughey and Jennifer Jason Leigh in White Boy Rick. Cyler's television roles include Jim Carrey's I’m Dying Up Here and the upcoming addition to the Scream franchise.
