WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for “The Book of Blood: Chapter Three: The Sange,” the latest episode of Black Lightning.

Since the second season of Black Lightning began, Jennifer and Khalil have found themselves growing closer and closer to one another. Now, the two teens have decided to go on the run together, but not before Jennifer revealed her metahuman powers to Khalil.

After multiple episodes of teasing a relationship between Jennifer and Khalil, “The Book of Blood: Chapter Three: The Sange” solidifies their bond during Khalil's time of need.

After another unsuccessful attempt to get Reverand Holt to leave town, Khalil is confronted and chased by Tobias Whale and his henchmen. Khalil was able to find a place to hide and called Jennifer, who rushed to his side so he wouldn't be alone. Just as the hired thugs are closing in on Khalil's location, the street lights explode, leaving the alleyway in darkness.

Once Khalil reunited with Jennifer, she opened her palm to display her orange-hued energy powers. This marked the first time Jennifer has used her powers in front of someone who wasn't a part of her immediate family, or Perenna, the telepathic therapist.

Later on, Lynn arrived home to find Jennifer missing. Lynn and Jefferson then met with Perenna, who didn't know exactly where Jennifer ran off to, but assumed it was with a boy. Perenna also offered a warning to Jefferson and Lynn regarding Jennifer's power level. Perenna warned she's never encountered a metahuman with as much power as Jennifer, and if they continued to push her away, it could prove disastrous for everyone.
