Black Lightning Adds Hosea Chanchez as Shakedown

As Black Lightning begins the second half of Season 2 in its new time slot on Monday nights, a new villain is poised to join the series.

Hosea Chanchez (The Game) has been cast as A.S.A. operative Marcus Bishop who possesses the ability to emit powerful vibrations and frequencies earning him the codename Shakedown.

The character reportedly was imprisoned after killing a superior officer in the Air Force after receiving a poor performance review, costing him career advancement. In exchange for his conditional freedom, Bishop has agreed to work with A.S.A. official Doctor Helga Jace.

Described as an impulsive, violent character, Shakedown is sure to poise a major threat for Black Lightning and his family while crime lord Tobias Whale moves closer to learning the true identity of Freeland's resident superhero.

Airing Mondays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on The CW, Black Lightning stars Cress Williams as Jefferson Pierce/Black Lightning, China Anne McClain as Jennifer Pierce, Nafessa Williams as Anissa Pierce/Thunder, Christine Adams as Lynn Stewart, Marvin “Krondon” Jones III as Tobias Whale, Damon Gupton as Billy Henderson, James Remar as Peter Gambi and Jordan Calloway as Khalil/Painkiller.
