If you talking bloody and mature anime, Black Lagoon should be at the top of your list. There's nothing PG here, from the copious amount of blood to Revy dropping F-bombs like it's going out of style, it's all meant to be a pretty adult experience. That's not even counting some of the villains like Hansel & Gretel who are psychotic children.

As you'd expect, the series has quite a few notable action sequences, many of the characters being the epitome of badasses. None of these fights are very long, save for one, considering the nature of them, but that's also what makes them so good. It's realistic in the sense that a gunfight isn't going to last half an episode.

10 Revy & Mr. Chang Shootout

There's a level of just suaveness to Mr. Chang's character that's absent in many within the series universe. He's always calm and collected, no matter the circumstance. He's even one of the rare few who've earned Revy's respect, no small feat given how big her mouth usually is. It's his presence that puts it here, that and the music in the background of the short scene. All action scenes are enhanced by long guitar solo's, something more anime and movies should take note of.

9 Rip-Off Church vs Mafia

Black Lagoon is filled with colorful characters, perhaps no more so than the members of the Rip-Off Church. The arguments that Eda and Revy get into throughout the series are always humorous, especially when she flirts with Rock just to annoy Revy. This fight isn't spectacular from an action sequence, but it's never going to fail to be badass to see women dressed as nuns battling mafiosos. Sister Yolanda, an elderly woman, brandishing a golden Desert Eagle towards the end of the shootout solidifies its spot.

8 Hansel vs Balalika

Black Lagoon Hansel and Gretel

Hansel and Gretel were some of the creepiest characters in the show, two characters who had some of the saddest backstory and most disturbing backstories you could have in the series. This fight wasn't so much a fight as it was a one-sided execution, showing how dangerous a character that Balalika could be.

From her demanding that Hansel kneels before her to her watching as he took his last breaths in front of her. It showed how she got to where she was and took a lot for the anime to even have a scene like this in it, considering the age of Hansel.

7 Rock Vs Revy

This is probably one of the best scenes in the whole series due to how complex and great their relationship is. It's also proof that a badass scene doesn't always need a lot of bodies, or even great fight choreography, it just needs emotion. In this entire conflict, only one punch is thrown and only one bullet shot. Yet, seeing Rock stand up to Revy the way that he did, forcing her to try to see who she really is, will always be one of the most badass moments in the anime.

6 Roberta Vs Revy: Bare Knuckle

Other moments are flashier for Roberta, as detailed later, but this one just has a rawness to it that doesn't happen all that often in a show that prefers gunfights. Seeing two of the most skilled killers just slugging it out had both intensity and humor to it as neither side was willing to give in. They both stood their ground until the very end when they managed to KO each other with two wild punches at the end of the fight, ending it in a draw.

5 Luak Ship Battle

This was a rather minor battle that happens early in the series but really drove home what kind of character Revy was. It shows how incredibly skilled she is while also showing how much she enjoys her work, gleefully destroying Luak's entire fleet of ships.

What makes it so memorable is some of the banter the crew has the whole time, from Revy talking about dancing the jitterbug to Dutch making quips while driving. It's one of those perfect moments that bring all the things that make Black Lagoon great together.

4 Revy Vs Ginji

There's always something innately badass about a swordsman going one on one with someone wielding a gun. That's exactly what we got in this fight between Revy and Ginji, a battle between two pure killers. The fight is super stylish, even having a moment where a bullet gets chopped in half and is one of the only times where someone had a legitimate chance to kill Revy. In the end, he was too overcome with thoughts of Yukio to deal the final blow quickly enough, causing his end.

3 Ginji & Revy Vs Chaka

Chaka from Black Lagoon.

While Ginji and Revy's solo fight may have had more emotional impact, this one just oozes badassness. Seeing the two of them mow through Chaka's goons is fantastic, showing off each of their characters greatly. What puts it so high up is the musical choices, from Revy's appearance in front of Chaka to Ginji and Chaka's duel, both songs work perfectly. The fact that we get to see Ginji chop off Chaka's hands is equally as satisfying considering what a horrible person he is.

2 Roberta Vs Lagoon Company

Roberta is one of the most badass characters in the show, a feat in an anime that's chock-full of them. A big reason why is the way she dresses, that maid outfit making you think she's some mild-mannered servant when she's more akin to that of a Terminator. This fight, in particular, shows how effective she is at killing, taking out the cartel in a matter of moments, and then relentlessly pursuing the Black Lagoon crew in one of the coolest car chases in the anime.

1 Roberta's Trail Of Jungle Blood

To top the awesomeness of her fight with the whole crew, Roberta would have to really bring it, and boy did she. Rather than going full Terminator as she had in the prior fight, she became like a Predator here. She hunted down soldiers one by one, taking each in a new and gruesome way. The slow start to it also helped build up the tension and fear being hunted by Roberta can have. The way it ended with her and Garcia sharing a kiss, expressing their feelings for one another was amazing as well, the perfect way to essentially wrap up her part in the story.
