WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Black Cat Annual #1 by Jed MacKay, Joey Vazquez, Brian Reber and Ferran Delgado, on sale now.

Ever since the crossover event King in Black, Black Cat has been tempted by the promise of ultimate power, including a vision of herself presiding over the entire Marvel Universe while wielding a fully powered Infinity Gauntlet. Felicia Hardy had a close brush with cosmic power recently, boosted by a branch from the Asgardian World Tree Yggdrasil, and has continued her search for power by hunting the various Infinity Stones.

And as her hunt takes her to the other side of the world, Black Cat gains a surprising new team in the Tiger Division as the "Infinite Destinies" crossover spills into Black Cat Annual #1.

Tiger Division

The official superhero team of South Korea, Tiger Division, is working in tandem with the country's government as an extension of the National Intelligence Service. Leading this superhero ensemble is White Fox, the alter ego of Ami Han, and the last of Korea's mythical kumiho, a race of nine-tailed foxes capable of communicating with animals, possessing enhanced senses and able to grow razor-sharp claws. Silver Fox and the South Korean government quickly identifies Black Cat as she passes through Incheon on a layover and detains the rest of Felicia's crew, offering her and their release and continued passage in exchange for Black Cat working directly with Tiger Division.

Implanted with a small explosive device in her neck to ensure her compliance, not unlike the DC Universe's Suicide Squad, Black Cat is introduced to the rest of her team, including White Fox's Agents of Atlas teammate Luna Snow. The team is tasked with tracking down the Korean hero Taegukgi, with comparable power levels to the Sentry and Hyperion, who has since been compromised by a local crime syndicate and now poses a threat to the South Korean capital Seoul. Tracking Taegukgi down, the team discovers he has already rebelled against the syndicate that sought to control him and is now being controlled by a bookish man in a backroom. Black Cat furtively implants a neck bomb into the pilot's body and kills him before he can use Taegukgi to cause further damage to Seoul, securing Felicia and her crew's release.

Black Cat White Fox

It is unclear how exactly the man was able to take control of a figure as powerful as Taegukgi but their abilities may have been boosted by the Mind Stone. As Nick Fury's case files reveal, following Black Cat's South Korean adventure, the Mind Stone remains unaccounted for as he documents the whereabouts of all the Infinity Stones. And as Fury continues his own investigation, he finds himself targeted by a mysterious force that appears to be hunting for the Infinity Stones themselves that will inevitably lead them to cross paths with the Black Cat in the near future.

In what was intended to be a short layover in Seoul, Black Cat found herself being drafted into South Korea (and the Marvel Universe's) very own twist on the Suicide Squad. The Infinity Stones are set to contain new secrets that could rock the Marvel Universe to its core and the Black Cat may have just witnessed firsthand exactly how dangerous the Mind Stone can be. And if there's one thing true about the Black Cat, a mere taste of power isn't going to be enough to sate her from continuing to search for more.
