Black Cat will play a major role in Marvel's latest event series centered on the search for the Infinity Stones, Infinite Destinies.
"Infinity Score" is a story arc in Black Cat that is billed as the conclusion of Marvel's Infinite Destinies, which is an event that will play out over eight annuals as heroes trace the whereabouts of the Infinity Stones. Each Infinity Stone is currently in the possession of a new character in the Marvel Universe, with Marvel previously teasing Black Cat wearing the Infinity Gauntlet. Writer Jed MacKay and artist Ibraim Roberson kick things off in Iron Man Annual #1, followed by Captain America Annual #1 by writer Gerry Duggan and artist Marco Castiello, and concluding with Black Cat Annual #1 by MacKay and artist Joey Vazquez.
"We've had a wave of incredible new characters over the last few years, and Infinite Destinies will shine a light on eight of them," Editor Nick Lowe said. "We'll discover new aspects of these heroes and villains in adventures with our most archetypal Marvel heroes."
"It's been exciting to work on Infinite Destinies -- it's a story that plumbs all areas of the Marvel Universe, offering something for pretty much everyone's taste," MacKay said. "I've gotten to work with characters who I've wanted to write for ages and also keep on with some old favorites.
