A cover for Marvel's Black Cat #8 features Felicia Hardy donning Thanos' Infinity Gauntlet in a tease for Marvel's summer event: Infinite Destinies.

In the lead up to Infinite Destinies, Black Cat will be on the hunt for the Infinity Stones, some of the most powerful artifacts in the Marvel Universe. However, Black Cat won't be the only character seeking the Infinity Stones' power. The previously announced Infinite Destinies will run through a series of eight Annuals in June, featuring the human hosts of the Infinity Stones.

“In the first year of Black Cat, Cat stole things from the most powerful heroes on Earth," Editor Nick Lowe said. "This summer, she steals the most powerful things in the Universe!"

"Felicia Hardy -- the Black Cat -- gets tangled up with the Infinity Stones, some of the most dangerous prizes in the universe. Felicia may be the most accomplished jewel thief on the planet, but when those jewels hold the power of the cosmos, it's a whole new ball game. Felicia is in a race against the others who would seek to control the stones for their own ends -- like Nick Fury (and a secret someone you won't see coming!)," Black Cat writer Jed MacKay teased. "Who can cross the world's most dangerous men, wrangle a pack of villains hopped up on fragments of infinite power, (hopefully) get the job done and look great all the while? The Black Cat, that's who!"

MacKay was also announced as a writer for the first Infinite Destinies annual, Iron Man Annual #1. It follows Tony Stark as he investigates the people who kidnapped Miles Morales in Miles Morales: Spider-Man. However, what he discovers about the Assessor and Quantum promises to shock the Armored Avenger.

"We've had a wave of incredible new characters over the last few years, and Infinite Destinies will shine a light on eight of them," Editor Nick Lowe said in March 2020. "We'll discover new aspects of these heroes and villains in adventures with our the most archetypal Marvel heroes."

"The Infinity Stones have found new homes -- as people!” MacKay said. "Infinite Destinies is the next chapter in the story of the Infinity Stones and the people they've bonded with -- and the powers in the Marvel Universe who are taking interest in these powerful new players."

Each annual will also contain a chapter of "Super-Spy vs. Super-Spy," a story following Nick Fury as the Agent of Nothing and Phil Coulson as the Agent of Mephisto. This will be the first time the characters have reunited since Coulson’s death in Secret Empire.
