DC Comics has released a trailer for The Princess Diaries writer Meg Cabot's upcoming Black Canary graphic novel --  Black Canary: Ignite -- that not only gives fans a sneak peek at the story, but also features an original song, appropriately titled "Ignite."

As the trailer begins, viewers see a sketchbook and a guitar appear on-screen before the former begins to move its pages. The sketchbook first shows an image of a literal black canary, then introduces the story's version of Dinah Lance -- the alter ego of Black Canary -- and her friends.

Viewers then get a look at Dinah's life before finally seeing her appear as the costumed heroine in order to do battle with the villain Bonfire, who --naturally -- possesses fire powers. The trailer ends with an advert for the book.

Aimed at middle grade readers, Black Canary: Ignite will focus on a teenage Dinah, who has her sights on winning a battle of the bands with her friends, then joining the Gotham City Junior Police Academy. However, things change when an enigmatic figure interferes with Dinah's plans, which will lead to Dinah learning a bit more about both herself and her mother's past.
