Black Adam's Hawkman actor Aldis Hodge revealed that his character and Amanda Waller share a scene together in the upcoming film, confirming that her appearance in the DC Extended Universe movie is more than just a brief cameo.

In a recent interview with Fandango, Hodge expressed his excitement about his scene with actress Viola Davis, who will be reprising her role as Amanda Waller. "When I saw in the script that she was there, I was like, 'I get a scene with Val? I get a scene with the GOAT? Hell yeah!'" He said, "Honestly, one of the things I'm most excited about."

It was first confirmed during the Black Adam panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2022 that Davis would be returning to the DCEU. What role the Task Force X boss will be playing in the overarching plot of the film remains to be seen.

This is not the first time that there has been a connection between Waller and the winged member of the Justice Society. Suicide Squad (2016) takes place in Midway City, which serves as the canonical home of both Hawkman and Hawkgirl. Unlike the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the DCEU has maintained a relatively loose approach to its chronology. This makes it difficult to identify whether Black Adam will occur before or after Suicide Squad until after the film's release.

Concept Artist Luca Nemolato recently shared two images that he explained were an "old concept for a Hawkgirl that never happened." While there was some speculation that this design was potentially for Black Adam, Warner Bros. has not officially stated that the character will make an appearance.

Hodge is not the only actor to indicate a connection between Suicide Squad and Black Adam. Leading actor Dwayne Johnson, while responding to a fan on Twitter, revealed that "Black Adam doesn't give a fuck" about the band of world-saving supervillains.

Whether Hawkman will be fighting alongside long-time ally Doctor Fate, acting as a representative for Waller, or engaging Black Adam independently remains to be seen. Black Adam will mark Carter Hall's DCEU debut, in addition to his first live-action appearance since his role in CW's Arrowverse, where he was played by actor Falk Hentschel.

Black Adam will be in theaters on Oct. 21.
