Black Adam's latest trailer is packed with explosive action as fans learn how Amanda Waller is connected to the Justice Society of America.

The trailer, available to watch below, opens with Adam underwater in a frozen landscape. A voiceover by Dwayne Johnson's powerful antihero mentions how his son died to save his life, before cutting to shots of Black Adam cradling his child and being slashed by an unknown assailant. He explains Black Adam's powers are born of rage and are more of a curse than a gift. This leads into a slightly extended version of a scene we've seen before, where soldiers attack him in the temple with Adam catching a bullet between his fingers, stating their "magic is weak" before wiping the squad out.

The trailer then cuts to Hawkman (Aldis Hodge) and Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) having a discussion about Black Adam's age and power, presented against footage of the antihero being contained within a glass coffin filled with liquid. Hawkman promises to take him down if Waller can contain him, a statement juxtaposed against a scene of Black Adam swinging helicopters through the air. Waller asks for the team line-up, leading to cuts to shots of Hawkman, Doctor Fate (Pierce Brosnan), Atom Smasher (Noah Centineo) and Cyclone (Quintessa Swindell) in a jet housed in what appears to be some kind of secret mansion-style base, not unlike the X-Men's setup with their Blackbird.

There's a clip of Hawkman asking for Black Adam's peaceful surrender, but Adam refuses to come quietly. This moment is followed by various shots of the JSA all fighting Black Adam and failing to stop him. Teth Adam catches Hawkman mid-mace swing and knocks him away, Cyclone tries to trap him between poles thrown by her powers, Atom Smasher comes crashing down next to him and Doctor Fate casts several spells that actually seem to hurt or constrain the ancient powerhouse.

Doctor Fate mentions Adam's potential, and the antihero utters that he "kneels to no one" as the trailer cuts to a brief shot of Adrianna Tomaz (Sarah Shahi), who (in voiceover) says Black Adam isn't looking for heroism, but revenge. Doctor Fate says Johnson's antihero could doom or save the world as he proceeds to bring down jets.

Finally, the trailer concludes with a shot introducing the film's demonic bad guy, showing Sabacc rising from the ground and facing off against Hawkman, though we only see the villain from behind. Masked soldiers with black and red armor show up, firing on and surround everyone. Black Adam flies upward, surging with energy as Atom Smasher rushes in from behind him. The final big shot is Adam floating towards the camera and landing as the helicopters he brought down earlier explode behind him.

Black Adam crashes into theaters on Oct. 21.
