It was announced in November that Black Adam would feature the Justice Society of America, which Hawkgirl was a part of at one time. Although Black Adam is a major Shazam villain, Zachary Levi's character will not appear in the film.

The first Hawkgirl, created by Gardner Fox, Dennis Neville and Sheldon Moldoff, was named Shiera Sanders Hall and was introduced in Flash Comics #1 in 1940. The mantle has also been held by Kendra Saunders and Shayera Hol.

Hawkgirl's powers come from a belt made from Nth metal, which gift her with flight, superhuman strength, reincarnation and more. The character has appeared in several DC television shows, including Super Friends, Justice League Unlimited, DC Super Hero Girls and even DC's Legends of Tomorrow.
