A new description from the set of Black Adam has shed some light on which comic version of Hawkman will appear in the upcoming DC Extended Universe film.

An inside source reportedly visited Black Adam's set and shared a synopsis of what Hawkman's Thanagarian Star Cruiser looks like to Murphy's Multiverse. In DC Comics, the Thanagarian Star Cruiser is piloted by the Thanagarians and is the vehicle that brings law officers Katar Hol (Hawkman) and Shayera Hol to Earth to arrest a fleeing criminal.

The source's description read, "It’s sleek… has this curved look to it... A raised circular sitting area in the back and a big set of long red lights that curve from the back up across the ceiling. There's a medical bay nook (reclined bed with instruments around it) and something that looks like a bar with class chairs. Hawkman symbol in gold on the floor in the center. Also one of the hallways has a Hawkman logo in red glowing at the end of it."

The reported presence of the Thanagarian Star Cruiser seemingly confirms that Black Adam's version of Hawkman will be an alien. Hawkman has had multiple origins over the years, but this description seems to suggest that he's the DC character created by Gardner Fox and Joe Kubert, Katar Hol -- an interstellar police officer from the Silver Age of DC. However, Katar Hol's character, also known as Carter Hall, has also been reimagined several times in DC; so it's unclear which era of Hall will appear in Black Adam, portrayed by Aldis Hodge.

Black Adam started filming in April after production was halted due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The upcoming DCEU film will see Black Adam awaken from his centuries-long imprisonment to become the ruler of his homeland Khandaq. However, his awakening draws the unwanted attention of the Justice Society -- forcing them to confront him.

Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, Black Adam stars Dwayne Johnson, Noah Centineo, Aldis Hodge, Quintessa Swindell, Pierce Brosnan, Marwan Kenzari, Sarah Shahi, James Cusati-Moyer and Bodhi Sabongui. The film arrives in theaters July 29, 2022.
