Warner Bros.' Black Adam DC film has cast Sarah Shahi alongside Dwayne Johnson, Noah Centineo and Aldis Hodge.

According to Deadline, Shahi's character is "a university professor and freedom fighter leading the resistance in Kahndaq." Though the real identity behind Shahi's character remains unknown, The Illuminerdi earlier reported Shahi will portray the DC hero Isis, who has a history with both Black Adam and Shazam (Zachary Levi), eventually becoming Black Adam's wife.

Dwayne Johnson brought Black Adam to DC FanDome, as the star held court during a panel at the 24-hour virtual convention that sets the stage for the DC Extended Universe film. The panel opened with an animated retelling of Black Adam's origin, with the revelation that he has been imprisoned in Kahndaq for 5,000 years.

"Black Adam is one of the most powerful characters in the DC Universe," Johnson said in response to a fan question. "However, heroes must show restraint against their enemies. Black Adam does not practice restraint, which makes him very likable to me."

"The number one choice of DC hero to take on an adventure with me is Wonder Woman," Johnson said. "The character is one I have respect for. I always thought it'd be great to hang out with Superman. At the end of the day... Black Adam and Superman could become friends. Or... they won't. We'll see."

The cast of Black Adam is filled out with the Justice Society of America, with Noah Centineo playing Atom Smasher and Aldis Hodge portraying their leader, Hawkman. Doctor Fate and Cyclone, two other Justice Society members appearing in Black Adam, have yet to be cast.

"Welcome to truth, justice, and the Black Adam Way," Johnson teased to end the DC FanDome panel.

Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, Black Adam stars Dwayne Johnson, Noah Centineo, Aldis Hodge and Sarah Shahi. The film currently does not have a release date.
