Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will soon join Warner Bros.’ DC Extended Universe. In fact, the actor is currently hard at work prepping for his upcoming role as Black Adam.

In January, Johnson had previously announced he was officially kicking off his physical training to bring the DC supervillain/anti-hero to life on the big screen. The actor has now shared a new gym photo, where he shows that he is still putting in the work for Black Adam — and getting more ripped than ever before.

“The hierarchy of power in the DC Universe is about to change,” Johnson wrote in the picture’s caption. “Training and prep for #BlackAdam has been a grind but this passion project outweighs the sacrifices.”

Before signing off, Johnson closed out his message by coining a term that fans of Superman will recognize. “Truth, justice and the Black Adam way.” The expression is a twist on the classic “Truth, justice and the American way” mantra Superman abides by. With this, Johnson is implying that his Black Adam will match Superman in terms of power levels — and maybe even surpass him.

Currently, Johnson is shooting the upcoming Netflix film Red Notice, whose planned production in Italy has been impacted by the coronavirus outbreak. Shooting for Black Adam is expected to begin this summer.

Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, Black Adam stars Dwayne Johnson. The film is scheduled to arrive in theaters Dec. 22, 2021.
