Action star Dwayne Johnson recently shared a behind-the-scenes clip of him on the set of Warner Bros.' upcoming Black Adam, highlighting just how big the bodybuilding former wrestler is in the role.

The clip was shared on social media and features Johnson in-costume as Teth-Adam, walking on to the set of Black Adam, passing at least one crew member, showcasing just how massive in stature the actor has become.

As the release date approaches, Johnson has shared a number of behind-the-scenes looks at Black Adam's costumes, sets and more. He has used many of these glimpses as opportunities to express his excitement for the project and how eager he was to make it. In a recent post, the actor wrote, "Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of playing some great (fun) characters over the years, but none speak to my DNA more than this antihero known as the man in black, Teth Adam."

The film has been a long time coming. Black Adam has been in development, with Johnson attached, since as far back as 2007. After postponements, delays, the DCEU was established and Warner Bros. brought the project back to life to introduce the antihero, though there were still issues to deal with when it came to the character's relationship with Shazam, who had his own solo film released in 2019.

The project has been delayed several times since for a number of reasons, very much including the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. It was recently reported the most recent delay was due to Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which required the soundstages that Black Adam needed for reshoots.

In addition, producer Hiram Garcia explained, "I think we're just in a world right now where there was a huge and understandable freeze-up when the [COVID-19] pandemic hit and a lot of productions were put on hold." He continued, "Now that the industry has really roared back, the pipeline for VFX is so jammed. Obviously all these superhero movies just require so much VFX, and we're just in a situation where the majority of the VFX houses are just completely swamped with work."

Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, Black Adam opens in theaters on Oct. 21.
