Reports of Hawkman soaring into Black Adam first surfaced in 2019. Most recently, Black Adam was featured with a virtual panel at DC FanDome, where Dwayne Johnson provided more details on the film. It was confirmed that Black Adam will feature Justice Society members Hawkman, Atom Smasher, Doctor Fate and Cyclone. "Welcome to truth, justice, and the Black Adam Way," Johnson teased. He then called out the Justice League to bring the Black Adam panel to an end.

Introduced in 1941 by Gardner Fox and Dennis Neville in Flash Comics #1, Hawkman was originally archaeologist Carter Hall, the reincarnation of ancient Egyptian prince Khufu, who was murdered with his consort Chay-Ara. Reunited in the modern day they fought crime as Hawkman and Hawkgirl. Subsequent revamps of the origin made Hawkman instead a fierce warrior from the planet Thanagar.

Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, Black Adam stars Dwayne Johnson and Noah Centineo. The film arrives in theaters Dec. 22, 2021.
