Ahead of the start of DC FanDome, Black Adam star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has given fans a little taste of what they can expect from the film's panel.
A video, shared by Johnson on his Instagram page, teases Black Adam's official logo (which of course includes the character's signature lightning bolt), as well as offers a brief glimpse at official concept art of Johnson as the DC anti-hero. The Black Adam panel will take place this Saturday, Aug. 22 during the DC FanDome virtual convention, in the Hall of Heroes section.
"The hierarchy of power in the DC Universe is about to change," Johnson wrote in the video's caption. "Black Adam arrives tomorrow at [DC FanDome]. Personally, I salute my Warner Bros. and DC partners for creating this historic opportunity for fans to absorb our entire DC Universe while we all continue to manage the challenges of [COVID-19]. Well done." Then, before signing off, the actor added: "The man in black is coming to crush them all."
Dwayne Johnson was first cast as DC's Black Adam, the arch-nemesis of Shazam, in 2014. Since then, the film has encountered delays, but it was finally set to go into production this year. However, the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has delayed filming, and it remains to be seen when the film will start shooting.
DC FanDome launches Saturday, Aug. 22, at 10 a.m. PDT.
Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, Black Adam stars Dwayne Johnson and Noah Centineo. The film arrives in theaters Dec. 22, 2021.
