Black Adam star and Doctor Fate actor Pierce Brosnan made a dark comparison regarding his character's powers.

While speaking to Total Film, Brosnan delved into Doctor Fate's powers, which include "[foreseeing] the future" and being able to "raise the dead." When asked if the Helmet of Nabu, which is a part of Doctor Fate's costume, was necessary to release these abilities, the actor responded, "Absolutely, yes. It's a blessing and a curse. It's almost like a drug addiction in some respects. It takes a lot of energy to wear the helmet." Brosnan praised the costume and helmet, revealing that director Jaume Collet-Serra was "very inclusive in the collaboration" and sent Brosnan designs for the helmet so he could "participate in the look of it."

Black Adam will see the DC Extended Universe debut of the Justice Society of America. Led by Brosnan's Doctor Fate, the JSA consists of Hawkman (Aldis Hodge), Atom Smasher (Noah Centineo), Adrianna Tomaz (Sarah Shahi) and Cyclone (Quintessa Swindell). In a recent interview, Hodge expressed interest in seeing the Winged Wonder in more than one possible solo project following his appearance in Black Adam.

The Justice Society of America Makes Their DCEU Debut

"The thing about Hawkman, you'll know if you look at the chronology of the comic book series, you have the Justice Society, you even have him dip into the Justice League a little bit, and then you have the standalone Hawkman comics, and there's so much rich history there," Hodge said. "His backstory, his curse, his history with Hawkgirl. There's so much there to fill out a standalone film -- a few standalone films! I just hope we get to explore it."

While Hodge would like to further explore his character's background, Collet-Serra recently said that Black Adam wouldn't delve into Hawkman's reincarnation-based origin story in much detail. According to the director, Hawkman's origin would "be too confusing" to incorporate into the movie. "Obviously, Hawkman reincarnates, so how many times do you need to reincarnate and still remember?" Collet-Serra said. "All these rules [are something] you don’t want to set until those characters are really established."

Black Adam star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson had also discussed his own role as the eponymous Man in Black, noting that Black Adam "has the powers of Superman," but none of the Man of Steel's morality. He went on to add that, like the Last Son of Krypton, Black Adam has a unique ethical code as well, though he won't hesitate to "rip somebody in half."

"Pound for pound, [Black Adam] has the powers of Superman -- but has become a god who has zero mercy in the DC Universe," Johnson said.

Black Adam opens in theaters on Oct. 21.
