Quintessa Swindell has been cast in the role of Cyclone in Black Adam which stars Dwayne Johnson as the titular character.

Originally seen in the DC Comics, Cyclone's alter-ego is Maxine Hunkell, granddaughter of the original robotic Red Tornado and an original member of the Justice Society of America. Kidnapped by Red Tornado's creator as a baby, she was injected with nanotech that gave her the powers of flight, wind-manipulation and sound control.

Swindell's casting brings an end to the search for the film's Cyclone. It was rumored that Isabela Moner and Leslie Grace were in the running for the role, with a report from Warner Bros. stating that the company was looking for an "Alexandra-Shipp type" as well as the detail that Cyclone would be playing an important part in Black Adam.

How important the character of Cyclone will be to the film is currently unknown, as details surrounding the film's plot have been kept tightly under wraps. Very little has been revealed and, at this time, all that is known is that the film will center around Black Adam who escapes decades of imprisonment bringing him into direct conflict with the JSA, the predecessor organization of what would become the Justice League.

Black Adam will be the first film to feature the popular anti-hero Black Adam, but will also be introducing members of the Justice Society of America to the big screen, with Swindell as the newest addition alongside Aldis Hodge as Hawkman and Noah Centineo as Adam Smasher. Swindell has previously appeared in the Netflix series Trinkets and HBO's Euphoria and is currently filming another HBO show, In Treatment, opposite Uzo Aduba.

Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, Black Adam stars Dwayne Johnson, Noah Centineo, Aldis Hodge and Sarah Shahi. The film currently does not have a release date.
