Two Dwayne Johnson-starring DC movies are getting new release dates, as Black Adam and DC League of Super-Pets shift to different months.According to Johnson, Black Adam has been moved from July 29 to Oct. 21, while DC League of Super-Pets is pivoting from May 20 to Black Adam's old July 29 spot. While the reason for the moves is unclear, The Rock's video message to his fans suggests it was done amicably as opposed to other recent COVID-19-related delays.RELATED: Gorgeous Black Adam Concept Art Introduces Pierce Brosnan's Bearded Doctor Fate

DC League of Super-Pets features Johnson as the voice of Superman's canine companion Krypto the Superdog. The film is loosely inspired by the Legion of Super-Pets, which debuted in 1962's Adventure Comics #293 by Jerry Siegel, Curt Swan and George Klein and consisted of Beppo the Super-Monkey, Comet the Super-Horse, Krypto the Superdog, Streaky the Supercat and later grew to include Detective Chimp, Proty II, Bat-Cow, Flexi the Plastic Bird, Clay Critter and Titus.

Black Adam, meanwhile, has been in development for over a decade. "Look, there's a reason why Black Adam, we had been developing over 10 years, right?" producer Hiram Garcia explained. "It's like some things come fast, some things don't, but it's our job in this business to make sure we continue to keep all of them developing, and they'll hatch when they're ready. When they're ready, that's when we give it to the world and go."

"We have always had a vision of where we saw we wanted this to go. We've never viewed this as just a one-off movie," Garcia added while discussing Black Adam's multi-film arc. "There's always been a rough, kind of loose outline in our head on an imaginary white board of how we'd want to do it. As we're making that, we start to look at that a little bit more. But, again, ultimately, we need the movie to be received well and we want fans to like it, but there's 100% a vision of what we'd like to be doing in a multiple picture aspect when it comes to Black Adam and the [Justice Society of America]."

DC League of Super-Pets soars into theaters July 29, while Black Adam changes the hierarchy of the DC Universe beginning Oct. 21.
