Black Adam star Aldis Hodge hopes to play Hawkman in the DC Extended Universe for a long time.

In an interview with /Film at 2022's San Diego Comic-Con, Hodge was asked if he would be open to exploring his DC character further in a solo Hawkman film. "The thing about Hawkman, you'll know if you look at the chronology of the comic book series, you have the Justice Society, you even have him dip into the Justice League a little bit, and then you have the standalone Hawkman comics, and there's so much rich history there," the actor explained. "His backstory, his curse, his history with Hawkgirl. There's so much there to fill out a standalone film — a few standalone films! I just hope we get to explore it."

Hodge joined Black Adam in September 2020 as Carter Hall/Hawkman, an archeologist who is the reincarnation of an Egyptian prince. He is the leader of the Justice Society of America in Black Adam. The other members of the JSA include Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone and Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate. Hawkgirl was originally set to appear on the team, but Dwayne Johnson explained that the film was unable to use the character and that her role in Black Adam was filled with Swindell's Cyclone. In July 2022, Luca Nemolato, who worked on Black Adam as a concept artist, shared an "old concept for a Hawkgirl that never happened." While Nemolato didn't disclose which film the unused concept art was created for, many fans speculated that the pieces were for Black Adam.
