Newly released concept art of DC's Huntress from the Birds of Prey film has revealed a more comics-accurate costume for the antihero as opposed to the motorcycle outfit she donned in the film.Birds of Prey concept artist Greg Hopwood shared the artwork alongside several others from the film. He wrote, "Might as well share this early, unused and unfinished huntress concept as well!" The artwork showed an alternative look for Huntress, equipped with her classic purple V-shaped mask and a long sleeve shirt, which is shown to be styled off with a purple cross necklace and a crossbow.
This isn't the first time Hopwood has released concept art from the film on his account as over the past few days, he has released unused concepts for both Harley Quinn and Black Canary.
During the film's release, one common criticism from fans was the lack of comic-accurate costumes for the characters of the film. Despite this complaint, the film was still able to earn over $200 million on an $84 million budget with almost an 80 percent rating from both critics and the audience on Rotten Tomatoes.
Directed by Cathy Yan and written by Christina Hudson, Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) stars Margot Robbie, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Rosie Perez, Chris Messina, Ella Jay Basco and Ewan McGregor. The film is now available on digital HD.
