While the future of the Birds of Prey franchise is still up in the air, Huntress actor Mary Elizabeth Winstead is down to reprise her role in another project.

Winstead spoke with ComicBook.com about her upcoming action film Kate on Netflix, and she was asked whether she'd be game for playing Huntress again in a movie or a TV show. And while the actor hasn't heard anything concrete, she's ready to pick back up the crossbow if the opportunity emerges.

"I'm down for anything, really," Winstead said. "I think Huntress is such a fun character, I don't know if there's any plans in the future to continue that version of Huntress, because there's a few different versions out there, in the comic books there's different versions, so I don't know if that's what's in store. But I'm happy I got the chance to do at least one iteration of her and if that iteration continues then I'd love to be a part of it, but we'll see what happens."

Last week, word broke that Warner Bros. and Misha Green, the creator of Underground and Lovecraft Country, were working on a Black Canary movie that would spin off from Birds of Prey. The project would see Jurnee Smollett return to the role from last year's film. It's not clear if it will hit theaters or go straight to HBO Max, but it will be the first movie to jump off from the events of the team-up film.

So far, the DCEU hasn't seen the return of any of the characters who debuted in Birds of Prey. Only Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn has reprised her role so far, appearing in James Gunn's The Suicide Squad, though the movie makes no mention of the anti-hero's adventures with Huntress and co.

Robbie has cast doubts on a return to the world of Birds of Prey, but she is keen to explore more Harley stories, especially with Poison Ivy, who has yet to appear in the DCEU. Smollett, meanwhile, hasn't commented on a Birds of Prey follow-up, but she has expressed her excitement about the Black Canary movie. And Winstead has made it clear that whether it's a solo project or a Birds of Prey sequel, she's interested in suiting back up as Huntress.
