If all goes well with the recently released Birds of Prey: And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinna film based around Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy could arrive in the future and Cathy Yan would love to direct it.

Yan recently spoke with The Wrap about a potential sequel to Birds of Prey. "I would love to see Poison Ivy and I would certainly love to see the relationship between Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy," the director said. Yan  was not clear on what type of relationship she would like to show between Harley and Ivy, or if there were any actual plans for a Birds of Prey follow-up.

In DC's comics, the characters Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy, also known as Pamela Lillian Isley, are frequently portrayed as good friends, and in some cases, lovers. The pair are even currently starring in their own miniseries called simply, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy. 

Birds of Prey star Margot Robbie also discussed the desire for a Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy film, saying that she would love for the two characters to meet on screen.

Directed by Cathy Yan from a script by Christina Hodson, Birds of Prey: And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn stars Margot Robbie, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Rosie Perez, Ewan McGregor, Ella Jay Basco, Steven Williams, Derek Wilson, Dana Lee, Francois Chau, Charlene Amoia, Chris Messina and Matthew Willig. The film is in theaters now.
