The first official trailer for Birdgirl has been released, revealing a tragic fate for the hero Birdman and introducing Birdgirl's sidekick/pet Birdcat.

Debuting on IGN's official YouTube channel, the series focuses on Judy Ken Sebben (Paget Brewster), who becomes the CEO of Sebben & Sebben after her father, Birdman, dies. Birdgirl struggles to run Sebben & Seben while forming the "Birdteam," which consists of Meredith the Mindtaker, The Feels, Strongarm and Birdcat -- who happens to be a regular cat wearing a Birdman mask. The trailer also declares that the only thing harder for Birdgirl than normal life is corporate life.

Birdgirl was first announced in 2019 and spins out of the events of Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law. Brewster had previously voiced Birdgirl on Harvey Birdman, who was depicted as a massive fangirl of the title character. Harvey Birdman, which reimagined Birdman as a lawyer, starred Gary Cole as the title character and ran for four seasons. A one-off special titled Harvey Birdman, Attorney General was released in 2019, which saw Birdman attempt to remove former Sebben & Sebben CEO Phil Ken Sebben as the President of the United States.

Birdgirl is created and produced by ME Productions, the same production company behind Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law. Erik Richter will also return as executive producer/co-showrunner.

In Birdgirl, 30-something Judy Ken Sebben inherits her father’s company, which would be great if that company weren’t built around the most socially irresponsible 20th Century products and practices that, on a good day, involves clearing redwood forests or operating for-profit children’s hospitals. From the halls of the company headquarters, she assembles the ragtag, non-overtime earning Birdteam. Together, they try to undo all the luridly dangerous decisions of the generation before or contain the havoc of one of their own “world-saving” products gone bad.

Executive produced by Erik Richter and Christina Miller with animation by Awesome, Inc., Birdgirl stars Paget Brewster, Rob Delaney, Sonia Denis, Kether Donohue, John Doman, Negin Farsad, Tony Hale and Lorelei Ramirez. The half-hour animated comedy series premieres Sunday, April 4 at midnight (ET/PT) on Adult Swim.
