Billy Dee Williams Returns As Lando Calrissian On 'Star Wars Rebels'

Although Billy Dee Williams wasn't among the franchise veterans announced for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, he will reprise his role as Lando Calrissian on the next episode of Star Wars Rebels.

Big Shiny Robot appears to have broken the news about "Idiot's Array," which is available now on the Disney XD app but won't air on television until Jan. 19. Visual confirmation -- that is, screenshots -- soon followed from Star Wars Insider contributor Tim Veekhoven and a Star Wars fan.

In the episode, Zeb loses the droid Chopper in a game of sabacc to Calrissian, kicking off a string of adventures involving the crew of The Ghost and some gangsters.

Rebels writer/producer Simon Kinberg revealed in May that Williams would appear on the Disney XD series, but he didn't indicate when. The 77-year-old actor portrayed Lando Calrissian in 1980's Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and 1983's Return of the Jedi. He's voiced the character (and his father Lindo) for several video game and animated projects over the years, most recently 2014's The LEGO Movie.

Star Wars Rebels airs Mondays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Disney XD.
