Disney+ announced a new short for The Simpsons, featuring saxaphone-playing Lisa Simpson and singer Billie Eilish, getting together for what is described as an unforgettable jam session.

The official synopsis for the short, titled "When Billie Met Lisa," reads, "Lisa Simpson is discovered by chart-topping artists Billie Eilish and FINNEAS while searching for a quiet place to practice her saxophone. Billie invites Lisa to her studio for a special jam session she’ll never forget."

This upcoming entry is the fourth short for The Simpsons created exclusively for Disney+. It is preceded by the Star Wars-themed The Force Awakens from Its Nap and the Marvel Cinematic Universe-themed The Good, The Bart, and The Loki, featuring a vocal performance from actor Tom Hiddleston as the MCU's trickster god. These were followed by The Simpsons in Plusaversary, which was released on Nov. 12, 2021 and marked the second anniversary of The Simpson's move to the Disney+ streaming service.

Eilish is the latest in the long list of guest stars that have graced the animated adult series over the years. Since The Simpsons' first season, the show has featured a total of 933 guest stars (at the time of writing). The show has even earned a Guiness World Record for "Most Guest Stars Featured in a TV Series," which is earned in 2010.

That number of guest stars does not include the major celebrities featured in 2007's Simpsons Movie. To date, it is the only feature film the franchise has seen. However, series star Yeardley Smith, who voices Lisa Simpson, recently suggested that another film may be in sight. She stated, "I have no idea when. I will say one of the issues is -- it's such a labor-intensive show behind-the-scenes... that to siphon off any group of actors to basically engage in another full-time job [and] to write and animate a full-length film, is untenable at the moment. But that doesn't -- that's just today. I do really believe that there will be a [Simpsons Movie 2]."

But of the many big things that may be in the show's future, a conclusion is not necessarily in sight. Smith recently expressed confidence that more seasons will be released. "We started recording Season 34 and it's the last of our two season pickups. We had a pickup for 33 and 34, but I feel like we would be given a pretty big heads-up for the last season... if it was the last season, I think they would want to capitalize on that and make bazillions on advertising."
