Excellent! After years of implications and hints at a possible third Bill & Ted movie, the stars of the film released a video letting fans know when the pair is going to make its return to the big screen.

The video features Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves in front of the Hollywood Bowl, a venue that both Winter and Reeves agree they will "never play." The duo then says they're excited to make the sequel Bill & Ted Face the Music, which will start filming this summer, and in the 36-second video, Winter and Reeves show their comedic timing hasn't dulled, with the two ping-ponging comments back and forth as fast as Bill and Ted play guitar.

Although they might be joking, the two say they "might, actually, hopefully make a movie this summer," which does make it sound like the film might not be 100 percent happening, but the one thing that's clear is how grateful they are to their fans, which date back to the first movie, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure. Still, regardless of the possible confusion of what the two said, the video does end with a title card that says the film will be in theatres summer 2020.

Here is the new synopsis for the film:

To fulfill their rock and roll destiny, now middle-aged best friends William ‘Bill’ S. Preston Esq. (Winter) and Theodore ‘Ted’ Logan (Reeves) set out on a new adventure when a visitor from the future warns them that only their song can save life as we know it and bring harmony to the universe. Along the way, they will be helped by their families, old friends and a few music legends.

Dean Parisot, director of such films as Galaxy Quest, Fun with Dick and Jane and Red 2, was slated to direct as early as 2012. He is still scheduled to direct, according to the IMDb page for the threequel.

Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure premiered in February 1989 and was about two time-traveling teenagers who meet and gather historical figures to be in their high school history presentation. The movie also spawned an animated series in 1990 that ran for 2 seasons and featured the voices of Reeves, Winter and late comedian George Carlin. However, their voices were recast with Christopher Kennedy playing Bill and Evan Richards playing Ted.

Kennedy and Richards would later go on to play Bill and Ted in a live-action television series, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventures, which ran for seven episodes. The last Bill & Ted movie, Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey, premiered in 1991.
