Bill & Ted are back in the most excellent first trailer for Face the Music, which arrived just in time for National Bill & Ted Day.

Face the Music, the third film in the franchise, reunites Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter as the title characters. Taking place nearly three decades after Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey, the film sends the middle-aged rockers on a new adventure with their daughters Billie (Brigette Lundy-Paine) and Thea (Samara Weaving).

When the trailer picks up, Bill S. Preston, Esquire and Ted Theodore Logan haven't lived up to their promise. They haven't written the song that will save reality, and now the world is beginning to crumble around them. So, they decide to go to the future and steal the song from their future uses. Unfortunately for them, their future is a little darker than they anticipated.

According to the film's official synopsis,

The stakes are higher than ever for the time-traveling exploits of the now middle aged best friends as they set out on a new adventure to seek the song that will set their world right and bring harmony in the universe, helped by their daughters (played by Samara Weaving and Brigette Lundy-Paine), a new batch of historical figures, and a few music legends.

Directed by Dean Parisot and written by Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon, Bill & Ted Face The Music stars Keanu Reeves, Alex Winter, Anthony Carrigan, Kid Cudi, Brigette Lundy-Paine and Samara Weaving. The film arrives in theaters on Aug. 21, 2020.
