Bill & Ted Face the Music has a new release date -- again.

A featurette for the upcoming movie reveals it has bounced back to Aug. 28 from its previously announced Sept. 1 release date. The video also includes new footage from the threequel, which gives Bill S. Preston Esq. and Ted "Theodore" Logan only 24 hours in which to write the song that will save all of reality.

The featurette opens with a scene from the trailer, in which the eponymous duo try out some experimental music at a wedding. The new footage, interwoven between interviews with cast, shows more scenes of Bill and Ted in Hell. For instance, one clip shows the friends accompanied by an alien creature. At one point, Ted's father also appears and tells them, "It is imperative that you write the song that will unite the entire world."

"And save reality," they add.

"Wait, is that new?" Captain Logan asks, to which they nod and confirm, "Yeah."

Bill & Ted Face the Music was originally slated to release on Aug. 21. However, due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the film was pushed back a week to Aug. 28 in June. Then, the full trailer released last month revealed the movie was delayed again, this time to Sept. 1. Further, this trailer announced the film's simultaneous release in theaters and OnDemand, as many movie theaters remain closed because of the pandemic. Now, Bill & Ted has jumped back to its Aug. 28 release date.

According to the film's official synopsis,

The stakes are higher than ever for the time-traveling exploits of the now middle aged best friends as they set out on a new adventure to seek the song that will set their world right and bring harmony in the universe, helped by their daughters (played by Samara Weaving and Brigette Lundy-Paine), a new batch of historical figures, and a few music legends.

Directed by Dean Parisot and written by Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon, Bill & Ted Face the Music stars Keanu Reeves, Alex Winter, Anthony Carrigan, Kid Cudi, Brigette Lundy-Paine and Samara Weaving. The film arrives in theaters and OnDemand Aug. 28.
