Bill Sienkiewicz Unveils His Detective Comics #1000 Variant

Artist Bill Sienkiewicz has revealed his variant cover for DC's upcoming milestone Detective Comics #1000, and it's an utterly chilling image of Batman.

The cover, which Sienkiewicz posted on Twitter, shows a stylized version of the World's Greatest Detective pouncing while illuminated by a single green light source. "My very last variant cover done for [Mark Chiarello] just before he was unceremoniously let go [sic] by DC Comics," Sienkiewicz wrote, referring to DC's recent layoffs, which included Senior Vice President of Art Direction Mark Chiarello.
