Actor Bill Murray promises that the late Harold Ramis will have a presence in Ghostbusters: Afterlife, the fourth film in the franchise.
Murray appeared Thursday on Ellen, wearing a panda mask that covered his whole head. Host Ellen DeGeneres noted that the film reunites most of the original cast -- Murray, Ernie Hudson, Dan Aykroyd, Annie Potts and Sigourney Weaver.
Murray responded, "We're missing two great people. We're missing Rick Moranis, and we're missing Harold Ramis. And they're greatly missed for so many reasons. They were so much a part of the creation of it, and the fun of it. But Harold is featured in the story of the movie, so it'll be very interesting."
Ramis died in 2014 at age 69 from complications of autoimmune inflammatory vasculitis. He co-wrote 1984's Ghostbusters and its 1989 sequel Ghostbusters II, and co-starred in both as parapsychologist Egon Spengler.
Moranis, who co-starred as Louis Tully, retired from live-action acting in 1997, but has done some animation voice work since then.
Directed by Jason Reitman, who co-wrote with Gil Kenan, Ghostbusters: Afterlife is set for release March 5, 2021. It stars Finn Wolfhard, Carrie Coon, Paul Rudd and Mckenna Grace.
